EGET ANSVAR – SOLE RESPONSIBILITY

by Elsebeth Egholm

It’s the summer holidays and a heat wave is sweeping over Aarhus. A well-known refugee lawyer is found dead in his house in Højbjerg. At first glance, it looks like an accidental fire death, but turns out to be murder. Investigator at East Jutland Police, John Wagner, is called in on his day off and therefore has to cancel Dicte Svendsen’s and her daughter Rose’s birthday party that evening. Dicte’s adopted son, Peter, prefers to keep an eye on the party from a distance and follows Rose when she and her cousin later go out into the Aarhus nightlife. On the way, the girls are kidnapped by two hooded men in a white car. Peter tries but cannot prevent the kidnapping. In Sole Responsibility, Dicte tries to cooperate with the police in the investigation, but when Anna Bagger takes over the kidnapping case, she loses confidence and throws herself into her own investigation. Sole Responsibility is the seventh book in Elsebeth Egholm’s terrific crime series about the journalist Dicte Svendsen.
