KATRINE ENGBERG WAS born and raised in Copenhagen. Both her parents were academics and her childhood home was filled with books. Yet she chose to go her own way and trained as a dancer, choreographer and director. She has both performed in and directed musicals, and she directed several of the Danish entries to the Eurovision Song Contest and the Melodifestivalen in Denmark.
IN 2016 SHE made her debut as a crime writer with The Tenant, which received rave reviews and made it to the top of the charts all over the world. Her books are published in over 30 countries, have sold more than a million copies, and won several prizes, including the prestigious Martha Award, bestowed by the Danish bookseller association. Katrine lives with her husband and son in central Copenhagen.
