BLODLOKAN – RAVENSWING

By Louise Boije af Gennäs

When Sara’s father dies in a mysterious fire she moves from the small Swedish town Örebro to Stockholm in a try to start over. At first things are going almost too smoothly: the job at a café in the outskirts of Stockholm is replaced with one at a cool PR agency downtown, and the shabby suburban room becomes a luxurious apartment in the posh neighbourhood of Östermalm. Sara soon realizes that things are not as they seem. Strange things are happening to her, each time increasingly frightening and completely inexplicable. The threat against Sara and her family becomes more apparent as it seems that someone wants something from her at any price. But what do they want? And why?

In the Resistance Trilogy Louise Boije af Gennäs portrays one individual’s struggle against the powers-that-be. It’s a hair-raising game, a manipulation of reality versus imagination where nothing is what it seems – and where the truth can change everything.

A terribly thrilling story […] The first instalment of a new trilogy, and if the plot holds it’s going to be really, really good.

A dense psychological thriller that’s impossible to put away – a mix of the Millennium trilogy, Gentlemen by Klas Östergren, Kafka and Hitchcock.
Damernas Värld Magazine

Ravenswing is a real page turner. Louise Boije af Gennäs skilfully builds the thrill by adding weird events to Sara’s everyday life, by letting us doubt everyone in her surroundings, by unexpected turns of events in the plot.

The prose is uncomplicated and the story is an easy read. The events are corrosive and niggle away at you, and I read the book in one sitting. I need to know how everything comes together! Ravenswing is so good and I am really looking forward to the next one. Read it!

I love books with mind games. I still have some questions so I’m happy that the next book will be out this fall already, I would have wanted to read all three books in a stretch.

The story’s mix of fact and fiction is really clever. And how I like that a young woman in a thriller is not only a victim, but also offers resistance.

She really writes well!

Ravenswing is a quick, intense and thrilling suspense novel that’s difficult to put away, but sometimes I do need to take a break and a deep breath to get rid of the creeping sensation along my spine…. then I throw myself over the book again […] very skilful!

I binge-read it during the weekend and I really couldn’t put it away before finishing it. Louise Boije af Gennäs has in this book created a strong socially critical story clearly rooted in reality through authentic newspaper articles with a suspenseful fictitious storyline. The style is quick and easy to read and from start I rooted for the main character Sara. I already am looking forward to the next book in the trilogy!
