ALEXANDRA-THERESE KEINING is an award-winning director, screenwriter, and author whose work has garnered international acclaim at film festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Rome, Rotterdam and London. Known for her ability to craft emotionally charged stories, she explores themes of human behaviour, psychology and societal challenges. Her critically acclaimed films include The Average Color of the Universe (2020), Girls Lost (2014), and With Every Heartbeat (2011). She was also creator of SVT series Lea (2022) a crime story set in the brutal world of boxing.

BORN IN MALMÖ, Sweden, Keining now resides in Stockholm with her family. Her creative vision often blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination, making her one of Sweden’s most distinctive storytellers.

IN ADDITION TO her cinematic achievements, Keining is making a striking literary debut with her first novel for adults, The Cannibal: From the Lions Den.
