FATIMA BREMMER IS an investigative journalist specializing in women’s history. She worked as a News Editor at Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet, and is the author of several award-winning books.

IN 2017 BREMMER won the prestigious August Prize for her book Life in Every Breath, a biography about the rule-breaking iconic journalist and adventurer Ester Blenda Nordström. The book was a major success in Sweden and has sold over 260 000 copies. Bremmer was  shortlisted for The Great Non-fiction Award and won The Skara Citizen of the Year Award in 2018 as well as The Tôrpar Award in 2019.

SINCE DEBUTING HER prize-winning story, Bremmer has been traveling the country to speak about the curious life of Ester Blenda Nordström. Her incredible popularity and deep knowledge on women’s history led her Swedish publishing house to reissue an edition of her wonderful historical exposé Generation Housewife, a portrait of the 20th century heroines and homemakers who raised an entire nation.

AFTER THE SUCCESS of both Life in Every Breath and Generation Housewife, Bremmer began a new project. A collective biography telling the story about the wonderful women writers of the early 20th century who dared to challenge the rules of their time to win freedom for women for generations to come.
