Johannes and You is about a neighbourhood and a little girl, but also about a father who remembers his own parents and childhood. The novel sees the modern city through Per Hagman’s distinctive gaze, his first book since Cigarette set exclusively in Stockholm. It can also be described as an older cousin to To Come Home Should be a Hit Song, switching late-night antics for wide-eyed walks to and from preschool.
