PUNKTUM PUNKTUM KOMMA STREG – BREAKING

By Pia Konstantine Berg

NORA HAS RELUCTANTLY returned to Odense to pursue her studies in journalism. The city is a constant reminder of everything she’s tried to forget over the past three years. She keeps everyone around her at a safe distance and rather parties away from reality. But perhaps a fresh start is exactly what she needs? What she certainly doesn’t need is an arrogant, know-it-all teacher who can see right through her. Mads, a young  star reporter, might be a big deal to others, but Nora is determined not to be impressed by the famous Mr. News. She has enough on her plate as it is…

NORA’S FATHER, HIMSELF a renowned journalist and two-time Cavling winner, has had a serious accident during a research trip to the Middle East and now suffers from ‘Locked-In Syndrome’, which means he can neither move nor speak. Nora, who has always looked up to her father, feels that his life after the accident is undignified and, convinced that he would rather be dead than live so limited, she decides that he is dead to her. As a result, she hasn’t visited him in the three years he has lain motionless in a nursing home.

BUT AS HER feelings for Mads become more and more serious, Nora’s facade begins to crack, and through falling in love she experiences the necessary personal redemption that gives her the courage to seek out her father again and to make peace with the curveballs life throws at you.
