The Swedish Academy announced several award recipients during its annual ceremonial meeting on December 20th. Among those honored were Jonas Enander and Hanna Rajs, who received prestigious scholarships for their contributions to literature and science.

Jonas Enander was awarded the Gerard Bonniers Donation Fund for 2024, with a prize of 75,000 SEK. Born in 1981, Enander holds a Ph.D. in physics and has conducted research on Einstein’s general theory of relativity and black holes. His latest book, FACING THE DARKNESS – BLACK HOLES AND OUR PLACE ON EARTH, explores one of the universe’s greatest mysteries and was published in 2024. He is also a regular contributor to popular science journals, focusing on physics and astronomy.

Both scholarships highlight the recipients’ remarkable achievements and contributions. Jonas Enander and Hanna Rajs join an esteemed list of previous honorees from these respected funds, which aim to support promising writers and uphold humanistic values in literature.
