911 RECEIVES AN emergency call. A frantic man called Anders tells them that his wife has been murdered. Upon arrival, the police are greeted with the sight of a dinner gone wrong and a crime scene with clear ritual elements: the victim has been strangled with her own tights, placed like a crucifix and had her hair cut off. Anders is immediately arrested.

WHILE ANDERS IS in custody, another woman is attacked, but miraculously survives. The motive seems to be related to adulterous affairs. How are the victims connected? Is there a serial killer on the loose in Kalmar?

POLICE INSPECTOR ELISABETH Hallman is back in town after a short time in Stockholm. She can’t let go of the Gabriella Sorani case, even though she solved it and put the killer in prison. She needs to understand. At the same time, she is haunted by demons, both new and old, that demand her attention and interfere with her investigations.
