Mikaela Bley
In 2015, Bley made her literary debut with Lycke, introducing readers to the character Ellen Tamm, an unconventional crime reporter. The success of this novel led to a series featuring Tamm, with the sequels Liv (2016), Louise (2018), and The Unnamed (2019). With this bestselling series Bley allowed herself to explore the controversial world of female perpetrators. These novels have been translated into multiple languages and sold in fourteen countries.
In 2022, Bley launched a new series set in Malmö with the novel Dead to You, followed by Sister, Dear in 2023. This series centers on Henrik “The Killer” Hedin, a former professional football player gone police investigator. Known for his uncompromising approach and strong sense of justice, Hedin quickly becomes one of Sweden’s most prominent and talked-about detectives.
Bley’s novels are characterized by their intricate plots and deep psychological insights. She delves into contemporary societal issues, often exploring themes related to family and relationships, where appearances can be deceiving. Her fascination with crime and the darker aspects of human nature drives her storytelling.
