“There is a fundamentally thrilling story waiting to be told about the founding of this special crime investigation unit and how they became Denmark’s answer to the FBI, achieving almost mythical status among many Danes. And at the heart of it all is, of course, our main character – Otto Himmelstrup. A fascinating and complex figure, who struggles with the pain of the past in a desperate attempt to prevent future atrocities. He WILL catch the guilty – and in the process, we get a close look at the creation of modern criminal investigation.”

THRILLING AND ENTERTAINING CRIME STORIES SET BETWEEN LUXURY AND LAWLESSNESS IN THE 1920s!

THE TRAVEL UNIT SERIES unfolds in the tense, post-World War I setting of late 1920s Denmark. We follow Detective Otto Himmelstrup, the ambitious yet brooding head of Denmark’s newly established Travel Unit—a specialized unit created to aid local law enforcement in tackling the most challenging cases across the country.

WHEN A CHARRED CORPSE is discovered in the ruins of a summer house in Esbjerg, Otto and his team are drawn into a labyrinthine murder mystery. As they delve deeper, they uncover a web of power struggles and corruption lurking within the city’s elite. When a boat drifts ashore with the brutally crucified body of a young man tied to the mast, pressure from his superiors in Copenhagen rises and Himmelstrup is tasked with proving the worth of his team of traveling investigators.

BUT WITH EACH step closer to the truth, the stakes rise and danger intensifies. Otto finds himself not only up against formidable adversaries but also forced to grapple with the shadows of his own soul, as his relentless pursuit of justice pushes him to the brink.

WILL THE TRAVEL Unit be able to solve their first case before their final hour has come?
