AFSLUTNINGER – ENDINGS

By Kim Andrea Brofeldt

SARAH HAS AN unusual fixation: endings. She completes the tasks left unfinished by those who have passed away—whether it’s reading the final chapters of books, drinking the last half cup of stale coffee, or tackling the impossible task of finishing an 18,000 pieces jigsaw puzzle. Working in a nursing home where she is surrounded by death and people who leave unfinished business behind all the time, keeps Sarah busy. Outside of work, her only companion is her father, who is deeply mired in the sorrow of a failed love affair. This has been Sarah’s life since her teenage years. She finds comfort in endings, which are concrete and manageable. Beginnings are the opposite, which is why she has deftly steered clear of them.

THEN ONE DAY, a sweater-clad florist and a little boy disrupt her routine. These unexpected intruders force Sarah to confront the reality of her lifestyle and the painful secrets of her past.

DISCOVER A HUMOROUS, deeply-moving story with a cast of unforgettable characters. Effervescent as well as tender, Endings is an utterly charming depiction of life, death, love, the people who help us through it all and the journey of discovering one’s path in life—even after years of merely existing.
