DANSEN OM GULDKALVEN – THE DANCE AROUND THE GOLDEN CALF

By Jacob Jonia

Three estates. Two disappearances. A race against time.

Lolland 1928: During a hunt, the Danish Minister of Justice is shot at. The head of the Travel Unit, Himmelstrup, first thinks it is a banal hunting accident, but when a Polish laborer girl from the area disappears, he realizes that there is more at stake. Himmelstrup and his team make their way to Lolland.

A bitterly cold winter settles over the flat island, where the team encounters a closed community. Tensions between the Polish casual laborers and the Danish estate managers come to a head when a Polish man is found dead with a dung-gripped chest wound. But Himmelstrup finds the most irreconcilable conflicts among the members of the powerful Søndermark family, who own most of the land.

During the last hunt of the season, all eyes are on the minister and no one takes notice of his daughter`s disappearance. Himmelstrup races against time to track down the truth about an acient feud that keeps escalating before his eyes. Will Himmelstrup be able to save the girls lives?
