Carla Sehn and Kardo Razzazi in the Åre Murders crime drama for Viaplay
Two time Guldbagge nominée Carla Sehn is about to star in her first leading role in the crime genre on Viaplays new series The Åre Murders – based on Viveca Sten’s successful book series with the same name. Carla Sehn plays a police officer together with Kardo Razzazi. Series shooting is already in full effect in Åre. The Åre Murders series is produced by SF Studios and six episodes will premiere on Viaplay.
– It’s a unique experience to get to film on such a spectacular set as Åre, where nature becomes a vital element in the story. I think it does something to me as an actor, says Clara Sehn.
The Åre Murders is a police drama about a Swedish vacation paradise with a breathtakingly beautiful yet treacherous and deadly nature. The series takes place in the mountains of Jämtland where the local police force struggle with limited resources to solve crimes.
The series is based on Viveca Sten’s best selling books about police officers Daniel Lindskog (Kardo Razzazi) and Hanna Ahlander (Carla Sehn). Hanna lives for her job at the city police in Stockholm so when she gets suspended from work and dumped by her boyfriend her whole world crumbles. With no job, no apartment and dead broke, she runs to her sister’s vacation home in Åre. But when a young woman disappears during Lucia night celebrations she can not help but start her own investigation.
– It’s a unique experience to get to film on such a spectacular set as Åre, where nature becomes a vital element in the story. I think it does something to me as an actor. And it feels extra fun to give Hanna a face and a body, a character that already has a large fanbase around the world who are longing for the series, says Clara Sehn.
Kardo Razzazi stars as the local police officer Daniel Lindskog who is struggling with his family situation as well as the understaffed police station where he is reluctantly forced to take Hanna’s help. Will they be able to trust one another?
– To film in Åre has been so fun and exciting! Viveca Sten’s books are incredibly well liked so it will be super interesting to be able to share what we have done here with the viewers when the series is released on Viaplay. Everyone in the team has worked so hard to make this as great as it can be. And that I get to work with such a talented actor as Carla is just a dream. She upholds a level of professionalism that lifts the entire project, says Kardo Razzi.
In the star studded cast, lead actors Kardo Razzazi and Clara Sehn, are, among others, accompanied by: Charlie Gustafsson, Francisco Sobrado, Pia Johansson, Cecilia von der Esch, Moa Gammel, Siham Shurafa, Olle Sarri, Björn Elgerd, Henrik Norlén, Philip Oros, Samuel Astor, Sofia Ledarp, Linton Calmroth, Fredrik Söderholm, Frida Argento, Robin Stegmar, Baxter Rehnman, Freddie Mosten-Jacob, Diana Gardner, Viktor Åkerblom, Jens Hultén and the Norwegian stars Jon Øigarden, Agnes Kittelsen and Amalia Holm Bjelke. We will also see singer Maxida Märak in the role of coroner.

The Åre Murders series is produced by SF Studios in co-production with Viaplay and with the support from Nordisk Film & TV Fund. Joakim Eliasson and Alain Darborg directs based on a manuscript from head writers Karin Gidfors and Jimmy Lindgren. The series is produced by Brita Lundqvist.
